The same date, five times.
Five different people.

The classic “One Line a Day” format: one page per date, five yearly lines beneath one another. Deliberately minimal, with plenty of white space.

Every day, you get one line. Nothing more.

In five years, a single page holds everything that happened on that date — five times, beneath one another, side by side. You’ll see how the same thing shifts. What was a worry has come to nothing. What stood off to the side is now at the centre.

From the template

“Write the last two digits of the year at the top. The line is yours. It doesn’t have to prove anything.”

Frequently asked questions.

Which devices does the template work on?

Built for the reMarkable format (reMarkable 1, 2, and Paper Pro) — the page size fills the screen edge to edge. Supernote (e.g. A5X) uses practically the same dimensions and fits edge to edge as well.

Do I have to sign up or leave my email?

No. The download is direct, with no sign-up and no email required. The newsletter beside it is optional and separate from the PDF.

May I share or print the template?

Yes. It’s licensed under CC BY 4.0 — use freely, share, adapt, and print. A mention of Inkward when you reuse it publicly is appreciated, but not required.

What is the “One Line a Day” format?

One page per date, five yearly lines beneath one another. You write one line each day — and after a year you see, right above it, what happened on the same date last year. Over five years, the same page becomes a cross-section through time.

Which languages is the template available in?

Six: German, English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Finnish. Each as its own PDF with translated month names and introduction.
