You can delete your Inkward account and all associated data at any time, yourself. Use either of the two ways below.

How to delete your account

In the app (iOS & Android)

Open Inkward and go to Settings.
Choose “Delete account”.
Confirm the deletion.

Or by email: Write from your registered address to robert@inkward.life with the subject “Delete account”. We will then delete your account manually.

What gets deleted

Deletion permanently removes all of your personal data:

journal entries and recognised text (OCR)
mirror texts as well as weekly and monthly reports
subscription and usage data
connected cloud connections (e.g. Google Drive, reMarkable, Supernote)
OCR/API records and push tokens
uploaded photos

30-day grace period

Once you request deletion, we immediately flag the account for deletion and stop any further processing. The final, cascading deletion of all data happens automatically after 30 days. During this period you can cancel the deletion from within the app. After that, the data is irreversibly removed.

What is retained for legal reasons

Payment and invoicing data (processed via Stripe) is retained for the statutory retention period (German Fiscal Code § 147 AO, typically 10 years). It contains no journal content.
